The Norland Nanny - Jessica

 NORLAND
NANNY

JESSICA THE NORLAND NANNY

"Exceptional childcare, individually tailored to your family."

My name is Jessica and I am a Highly experienced Norland Nanny providing warm, professional and discreet private childcare in the UK and internationally. With over 12 years of childcare experience, I have had the privilege of working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds — from intimate, unstaffed family homes to VIP, UHNW, high-profile and fully staffed households. Whatever the setting, my approach remains the same: to provide exceptional, individualised care while creating a happy, secure and nurturing environment in which children can thrive.

About Me

I am a warm, caring and enthusiastic Norland Nanny with over 12 years of childcare experience and a genuine love for the career I have chosen.

For me, nannying is about far more than looking after children. It is about becoming someone they feel completely safe and secure with, understanding their individual personalities and needs, and becoming a trusted and dependable presence within family life.

I would describe myself as nurturing, fun, positive, organised and very hands-on. I love getting out and about with children, discovering new places, planning adventures and activities and encouraging their natural interests and curiosity. Equally, I recognise the importance of routine, consistency, boundaries and those quieter everyday moments at home.

I believe strongly that no two children are the same. My approach is therefore always individual to the child, taking into consideration their personality, developmental stage, emotional needs and the values and parenting approach of their family.

Building a genuine bond with the children in my care is incredibly important to me, as is developing an open, trusting and respectful relationship with their parents.

I am confident, calm and highly adaptable, and feel equally at home getting stuck into everyday life within a relaxed family household as I do working within a more formal environment.

Above all, I hope to bring warmth, fun, stability and a genuine love of childcare into every home I work within.

Professional Experience

I am a highly experienced Norland Nanny with over 12 years of professional childcare experience, caring for children from newborn through to school age.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with an incredibly diverse range of families and household dynamics. My experience ranges from smaller, intimate and unstaffed family homes, where I have worked closely alongside parents and become an integral part of everyday family life, through to VIP, UHNW, high-profile and prominent families and titled households.

This breadth of experience has made me exceptionally adaptable. I am equally comfortable working independently within a relaxed family home and taking responsibility for all aspects of children’s day-to-day lives as I am working within large, formal and fully staffed private households.

Within staffed environments, I have worked collaboratively with household managers, private PAs, security personnel, tutors, chefs, drivers and other household professionals. My experience within VIP, UHNW and high-profile households has given me a thorough understanding of the discretion, confidentiality, flexibility and professionalism expected within private service.

My childcare experience includes newborns, twins and multiple children; sole and shared care; proxy parenting; and supporting children with SEN and additional needs, including ASD and ADHD. I have cared for children across a broad range of ages and developmental stages and always tailor my approach to the individual child.

International travel has also formed a significant part of my career. I have accompanied families around the world and have relocated internationally alongside families, supporting children as they adjust to new homes, countries, schools, cultures and routines. I am confident travelling independently with children and assuming full responsibility for their care and wellbeing when parents are absent.

Some of the most meaningful parts of my career have involved supporting families through important periods of change. I have welcomed newborn babies into families and supported older siblings through the transition, guided children through starting nursery and school, assisted with developmental and educational transitions, and provided stability throughout international relocations and changing family circumstances.

I have also had the privilege of supporting children and their families through bereavement. Providing sensitive, consistent and reassuring care during such a difficult period reinforced for me just how significant a trusted nanny can become within a child’s life.

My positions have encompassed responsibility for children’s routines, development and education, meals, activities and outings, appointments, playdates, nursery and school commitments, children’s administration, travel arrangements and communication with parents, schools and other professionals.

My Norland training, together with more than a decade of practical experience within private households, has shaped me into a confident, intuitive and highly professional career nanny.

Above all, I recognise that being invited into a family’s home and entrusted with their children is an enormous privilege. Whether working within an intimate family household or a high-profile, fully staffed environment, I bring the same warmth, discretion, professionalism, loyalty and dedication to every position.

Whatever a family’s circumstances, I believe children benefit most from care that is consistent, responsive and tailored to them as individuals.

International Travel & Relocation

International travel has been an important part of my career, and I am highly comfortable providing childcare away from a family’s primary residence.

I have travelled extensively with families around the world, adapting children’s routines and care to different countries, time zones, accommodation and schedules while maintaining the familiarity and consistency children need.

I am confident taking responsibility for children throughout the travel process and working collaboratively with parents and other household staff to ensure trips run as smoothly as possible from a childcare perspective.

My experience extends beyond holiday travel. I have also relocated internationally alongside families, supporting children through the much larger transition of leaving familiar surroundings and establishing their lives in a new country.

I understand that while relocation can be exciting, it can also be an enormous adjustment for a child. Maintaining familiar routines, providing emotional reassurance and helping children settle into new homes, schools, cultures and environments are therefore central to my approach.

I am available for both UK and international travel and am happy to discuss travel requirements as part of permanent, rota or temporary positions.

My Approach

At the heart of my approach is the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, understood, valued and genuinely enjoyed.

I aim to provide children with the security of consistent boundaries and routines while giving them the freedom to explore, play, learn and develop their own personalities and interests.

I believe some of the most valuable learning happens naturally through everyday experiences. Whether we are exploring somewhere new, cooking together, getting creative, spending time outdoors or simply talking about their day, I look for opportunities to encourage curiosity, independence, confidence and emotional development.

Emotional wellbeing is equally important to me. I aim to be a calm and dependable presence whom children can trust, helping them understand and express their emotions while supporting them through challenges and periods of change.

I also recognise that I am there to complement, rather than replace, a family’s parenting. I therefore work closely with parents to understand their values, routines and expectations so that children receive consistent care and guidance.

Ultimately, I want the children I care for to look back on our time together and remember feeling happy, secure, supported — and having a great deal of fun along the way.

Availability

I offer a flexible approach to availability and am happy to discuss arrangements based around the individual needs of each family.

I am open to permanent and temporary opportunities, including daily, rota and residential/live-in positions, as well as proxy parenting, holiday and travel nannying, event childcare and ad-hoc support.

I am comfortable with both short and long-term commitments and am available to travel throughout the UK and internationally.

As every family’s circumstances are different, I welcome enquiries regarding individual schedules, dates and requirements.

Fees

My fees reflect my Norland training, over 12 years of professional childcare experience and the high standard of individualised care I provide.

As the positions I undertake vary considerably, professional nanny fees are tailored to the individual requirements of each role rather than based upon a single standard rate.

Factors such as working pattern, responsibilities, number and ages of children, travel, overnight care and the nature and duration of the position may be taken into consideration.

Rota, 24-hour, residential, proxy parenting, temporary, holiday and travel nannying and event childcare may be quoted on an hourly, daily or weekly basis as appropriate.

Babysitting rates start from £30 per hour.

For professional nanny positions and other childcare services, please contact me with details of your requirements for an individual quotation.

Employment rates are discussed on a gross basis where applicable.

Discretion & Confidentiality

Privacy is fundamental to professional private childcare.

Having worked with VIP, UHNW, high-profile and prominent families, I understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality both within and outside the family home.

I treat information relating to every family I work with — regardless of profile or circumstance — with the utmost respect and professionalism.

References and further details of previous positions can be discussed privately with prospective employers at the appropriate stage of the recruitment process.
